The End Is Nigh

Sorry for not posting (I promised myself I wouldn't do that!) but I've been trying to finish my quilt for the quilt show which is due on Friday. Pictures and details to come. I have less than 48 hours to finish plus my birthday falls right smack dab in the middle of that. Go figure. I'll be back over the weekend. Promise.

A Book I Can Relate To.

I just picked up this book from my local library. It's called "Everything I Needed to Know About Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume". I think I'd have to agree with that. I'll let you know how it goes.

Movies, Movies, Movies....

I heard they've started showing movie trailers for the new Will Ferrell movie "Semi Pro". I tend to avoid his movies but I think I might have to see this one. It takes place, was filmed and is about a semi pro basketball team from Flint, Michigan. (My birthplace.) There was a lot of talk on the news last year when they were in town filming but from what I hear they don't show much of Flint in the movie at all. (Why would they? It's pretty nasty...) The ironic part is the team is called the "Flint Tropics" and we just had 15 inches of snow drop on us the other day. Hmph.

Ira Glass Rocks, as does my co-worker.....

Ira Glass was in Ann Arbor over the weekend signing copies of his new DVD. A Co-worker of mine was planning on going and I would have gone, too, except that I didn't want my co-worker to think I was stalking him. So guess what my co-worker brought me today at work? The bookmark above, but on the back was this-

Awwww! Ira wishes I was there. It was so very cool of my co-worker to get that for me.

Two Flavors That Can't Go Wrong

I just took the time to leave a comment on the Dr. Pepper website. Here's what I had to say-

I absolutely love your Diet Dr. Pepper Cherry Chocolate Soda. It is the best diet drink I have ever had and I have told everyone I know about it. Please do not stop making it. It will be a very sad day when you do. If you do stop making it, please let me know when so I can stock pile as much as humanly possible. Thank you.

P.S. Seriously. Please let me know.

It's Better in Bollywood

I've had the Honey Kalaria's Bollywood Workout on my Amazon wishlist FOR-EVAH. It finally dawned on me that I could rent it from Neltflix to see if I even liked it. I was 5 minutes into the "Low Impact" section ("low impact" MY ASS) when I literally felt like I was going to fall through the floor and into the basement. There's tons of bouncing and jumping around and I can't even think about doing it pain free without putting my sports bra on first. I don't think her back-up dancers can keep up with her, either. Oh well. It's fun and different but I think I'll be sticking to my hula dancing, thankyouverymuch.

Tickling The Ivories

I have had a rather, low-key, low excitement type of weekend and I loved it.

I didn't have to work on Friday due to a winter storm in our area. YEE-HAW. Gotta love it.

I made my dad a Custard Pie from scratch over the weekend. (See my post about the movie "Waitress".) I hope he likes it.

I've been working on my art quilt project for an exhibit at the end of the month. I'm getting very frustrated with it and have to walk away from it on a regular basis. Oh, and my cat has suddenly become extremely interested with all of the pieces.

Oh, do you see the piano at the beginning of this post? I forgot to mention that my husband picked me up a piano a number of months ago on his job. It's slightly out of tune but for "free" who could argue? It looks a lot like the pic except mine has a white wash on it. I actually found a few sites where you can download sheet music. I'm very excited about that one.
