Sexy Hot Dreams

Last week I had the most amazing dream about Henry Rollins. ME-OW. I don't know if it could be called a "sex dream" because we were fully clothed and never touched, but still... it was a very sexy dream. I think he was reading his books to me and I remember thinking how smart and funny he was. I also remember thinking his neck was freakin' huge and was wondering if it was a sign of other things with that kind of girth.

I really hadn't thought about Henry Rollins since I saw him live a few times in the early 1990s when his band opened for Jane's Addiction. I knew he was a "spoken word" artist now of which I naively assumed was poetry. Stupid me. He's funny, extremely smart and very well spoken. Since this dream I've gotten a couple of his live performances from Netflix and some of his books from the library and I highly recommend them to anybody. Maybe you'll have sexy dreams, too.

Boiled Peanuts

Since my trip to Alabama in August my husband and I have been making a batch of boiled peanuts every couple of weeks. We both love them but are slowly learning that not too many people in the north even know what they are.

History and recipe for boiled peanuts.

Here's my recipe-
Buy a 2lb. bag of RAW peanuts at any grocery store. (They must be labeled RAW or GREEN.)
Dump into big pot.
Cover with water.
Stir in 1/3 cup of salt.
Boil on high for 3 hours.
They are delish!

And for those of you who never saw my pictures frm my trip to Alabama for my family reunion and the World's Longest Yard Sale, please feel free to check them out here.

Painting Fools

My husband has practically repainted the entire house over the last couple weeks.

This is what our living room looks like. We actually picked a brownish color from our new rug but it definately looks more "pumpkin" on the wall.

This is our back mudroom and basement stairwell. The other pictures make it look very orange but this picture definately shows that it's more of a sunflower yellow.

This is our kitchen. The top half is a dark, sea misty green while the wainscoating was painted white.

This is the view from the living room looking into the kitchen (see all of my bee-u-tiful Fiestaware?) and you can see the yellow in the mudroom.

I love it all. Yes, when looking through the house it may seem like there are too many colors but I love it. At least it's not all white and various shades of eggshell.
