Recitals and Make-up

Last night I went to my niece's dance recital. She was very cute and she did really well but I skated right after she was done which was about a third of the way through the recital. There's something about little girls wearing full blown make-up and fishnet stockings that really creeps me out. Oh, plus the stage mothers outnumbered the dancers 2 to 1 and that was just as disturbing.

Must. Find. New. Job. ASAP.

We're trying to figure out our travel plans for the summer. It sounds like Europe is out for this year, which means I definately need to get back to Las Vegas soon. I have a friend there and I haven't been out to see her in a couple of years, so I supose I should go hang with her. Too bad I don't really gamble or drink, but the shopping is amazing. I'm not talking the high end boutiques on the strip, I'm talking about the great discount chain stores they have on the west coast and not here. Yeah, I know, I'm cheap. Or rather, frugal.

The spouse canceled the Europe trip in exchange for a Harley Davidson. Yes, you heard me right, a Harley. The boy has been saving up his money to cash in on a Harley. I told him he better have enough money to up his life insurance at the same time. Apparently when he has incentive he can save like Scrooge. Me? I'm saving up for my trip next month to the Fiesta Sale. Yee-Haw!

BTW, I'm sure you'd all like to know this, but Homer Laughlin (makers of Fiestaware)has decided to discontinue Rose and Seamist Green. Just thought you'd all like to know.

How do I love thee...

Allow me to count the ways.

I don't get it. I saw Colin Firth in Bridget Jones's Diary and didn't think that much about him. Then I saw Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and I can't seem to get enough of him. I have become a woman obsessed. Thank god for Netflix because it's helping me to see every weird, obscure film he's ever been in. FYI- Valmont has the highest sex quotant while The Importance of Being Earnest is probably the best so far. Oh, and I wouldn't reccomend A Thousand Acres unless you want to hear him attempt an Iowa accent. It makes me cringe just to think about it.

Team America

We watched Team America: World Police last night.

I have two words to say about it- puppet pornography.

I LOVE the South Park guys and they have really out done themselves this time. Check it out as long as there are no children in the room.

I'm serious when I say there is puppet porn involved.

Jumping Rope

I have been jumping rope a lot lately. Everyone says it's a great way to exercise so I thought I'd give it a shot. I tell you what...I thought I was going to die the first time I tried it. Now I'm doing much better thank you.

I actually bought the rope over Christmas and have only recently had a chance to go outside and try it out. I was inspired by this guy here. Eric Nies was on the original Real World: New York but more recently he has been on some of the challenges that they replay over and over again on the music channel that plays no music. The last one he was on he was obsessing about his jump rope. Thus, I went out and bought one.

Apparently they are releasing a DVD this month that is a jump rope/workout video. Hmm..... I can't think of a place that I could actually watch the video AND jump rope at the exact same time. Hmmm......I don't know of too many people that could actually. And why would you want to jump rope in the house to begin with? Oh well, I'm still going to order it through Netflix to see what it's all about.

A Free Frosty

I forgot to mention that this weekend Wendy's is giving away a free frosty to anyone who asks for it. Free ice cream is good anytime in my book. Have a great weekend!
