Should I Be Scared?

Now, I know the area I live in isn't famous for being the most crime free area of the country, but anyone who's seen Roger and Me would know that. The local TV stations have started running commercials for the county fair coming in August. In the commercial they continuously repeat what seems to be the motto of the fair- "Have fun! Play fair! Genesee County Fair!" (If you click on the link you'll actually hear the catchy little tune.)

WHA??? Have fun but play fair??? Do ya THINK they may have had problems in the past?? Is it just me or does this scream "we've had problems before so you just better play fair while you're here our we're gonna sick our rent-a-cops on your ass"? If anyone else has a different take on this catchy little phrase, PLEASE, let me know.

My Kind of Education

My husband's friend is studying to be an EMT. In class tonight the instructor is showing Monty Python and the Holy Grail and pausing after every injury to discuss treatment.

Vacation, All I Ever Wanted....

Gawd, where have I been? I think this is the longest I've gone in a while without blogging. My bad. Ever since the weekend of the fourth it seems like we've been on the go or had house guests. Not that I'm complaining, it's just that it keeps me away from blogs or blogging. Sorry about that.

Back From the Weekend

My husband and I got back late Tuesday night from a fabulous weekend up north at my brother's new house. We swam in Lake Huron, we built sandcastles with my neice and nephew, we went sailing on my dad's new sailboat and every night we took moonlit walk along the shore of Thunder Bay while watching the fireworks go off. It was awesome.

While I was up there I ran into a former co-worker of mine. He was tooling around in the work van so he was easy to spot. He was doing geological research on an island and living off of a boat so we brought him bagels and coffee the last morning we were there. It was good to see him even though it was only a for a few minutes.

Right now I'm working on a compilation CD of sailing related songs for my dad and my brother. (Gawd, I'm hooked on Limewire these days!) Any suggestions? I have a bunch already, I'm just looking for something different so any suggestions would be much appreciated.
